Installing Mediatap

   Open the App Store. It’s the blue icon with a white “A” typically found on the home screen.

   Tap Search. It’s the icon with a magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen.

   Type mediatap and press ↵ Enter. A list of search results will appear.

   • Mediatap is a free app that allows you to download videos, photos, and other types of files to your iPhone or iPad.

   Tap Mediatap to open its homepage. Make sure you tap the app developed by “AppLeaf Team.” The full title on the app’s page is “Mediatap – Download video, PDF files and ebook fast and easy.”

   Tap GET.

   Tap INSTALL. Mediatap will now download and install to your phone or tablet. Once the installation is complete, a Mediatap icon will be added to one of your home screens.

Downloading the Video

   Open Instagram. It’s the pink, orange, and yellow camera icon typically found on the home screen.

   Navigate to the video you want to download. If it’s in your feed, scroll down until it’s visible on the screen. Otherwise, go to the user’s page that hosts the video, then tap the video to open it.

   • To search for a user, tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen, then type their name into the search box. When the correct user appears in the search results, tap their name to open their feed.

   Tap ⋯ at the top-right corner of the video. A pop-up menu will appear.

   Tap Copy Link. The video’s URL is now copied to your clipboard.

   Press the Home button to return to the home screen.

   Open Mediatap. It’s a gray square icon with 4 smaller pastel squares inside.

   • If you have a lot of apps on your home screen, you may have to swipe to another screen to find it.

   Follow the on-screen instructions to access Mediatap. If it’s your first time using Mediatap, you must give it permission to run, and decide whether you want to see notifications. Once you're finished, you'll see a screen with an address bar at its top edge.

   Tap and hold the gray address bar at the top of the screen. The word “Paste” will appear.

   Tap Paste. The URL to the video now appears in the address bar.

    Tap Go on the keyboard. It’s the blue button at the bottom-right corner of the keyboard. Mediatap will direct you to the video in its own browser.

    • If the video is not public, you may have to sign in to Instagram on this screen to view it.

    Tap the download icon. It’s the blue downward-pointing arrow at the bottom of the screen. A menu will appear.

    Tap Videos. Mediatap will now download all videos on the current screen (which should only be one, since you pasted in a direct URL). When the download is complete, a confirmation message will appear.

Watching Downloaded Videos

   Open Mediatap. If you closed the app, open it again by tapping its icon on the home screen.

   Tap ☰. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen, right before the URL bar. This opens the main menu.

   Tap Downloads. This displays a list of all videos you downloaded with the Mediatap app.

   Tap the video you want to watch. You can now watch this video off Instagram, even when you’re not connected to the internet.
