This How.com.vn teaches you how to perform a T-Test in Microsoft Excel to compare the averages of two sets of data.
Steps
- Open your workbook in Microsoft Excel. Double-click the file on your computer to open it now.
- To create a new workbook, open Microsoft Excel (in the Start menu in Windows, or the Applications folder in macOS), then click Blank workbook.
- Click an empty cell. This is where you’ll enter the formula data.
- Click the Formulas tab. It’s at the top of Excel, toward the center.
- Click More Functions. It’s the red book icon near the center of the ribbon bar. A menu will expand.
- Click Statistical. A list of relevant functions will appear.
- Scroll down and click T.TEST. A function arguments window will appear where you can enter data.
- Enter the first set of data. Here’s how:
- Click the down-arrow next to the “Array1” box to minimize the window.
- Click-and-drag your mouse cursor over the first range of data.
- Press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return. The range now appears in the minimized window.
- Click the arrow next to the “Array1” box to expand the window again.
- Enter the second set of data.
- Click the down-arrow next to the “Array2” box to minimize the window.
- Click-and-drag your mouse cursor over the first range of data.
- Press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return. The range now appears in the minimized window.
- Click the arrow next to the “Array2” box to expand the window again.
- Enter the Tails value. This specifies the number of distribution tails. Type 1 if it’s a one-tailed distribution, type 2 if it’s two-tailed.
- Enter the Type. This is the type of T-Test to perform. Enter 1, 2, or 3 here as necessary.[1]

- 3: Two-samped unequal variance
