How to Do Landscape in Google Docs on Android

This How.com.vn teaches you how to change the orientation of a Google Docs file to landscape (horizontal) mode on an Android phone or tablet.

Steps

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Open Google Docs on your Android.
Look for the icon of a blue sheet of paper with one down-turned corner. You’ll usually find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Tap the document to open it.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Tap the pencil icon.
It’s in a circle at the bottom-right corner of the document.[1] You are now in editing mode.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Tap the ⁝ menu.
    It’s at the top-right corner.
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Tap Page setup.
It’s near the middle of the menu.
  6. How.com.vn English: Step 6 Tap Orientation.
It’s at the top of the menu.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Tap Landscape.
This flips the orientation of your document from portrait (the standard vertical format) to the wider landscape format.
  8. How.com.vn English: Step 8 Tap the back button to return to the document.
You may have to tap it several times.
    • Since you’re viewing the document in editing mode on a small screen, it won't look like anything changed. But if you print the document, open it on a computer, or switch to print layout view, it will be in landscape.
  9. How.com.vn English: Step 9 Switch to print layout view to see the document in landscape mode.
Tap at the top-right corner, and then slide the ″Print layout″ switch to the On (blue) position. This refreshes the document to display in its new landscape format.
    • If you aren’t finished editing the document, slide the ″Print layout″ switch back to the Off (gray) position to return to editing mode.
