This How.com.vn teaches you how to prevent Gmail from sending notifications to your computer's desktop. While you can disable notifications from Gmail in your Gmail inbox settings, you may also have to block notifications from Gmail if you use Google Chrome. If you use your Gmail account through a desktop email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird, disabling Gmail notifications may not prevent pop-up notifications from appearing on your desktop.
