You can either turn off all search suggestions or remove your current search suggestions by clearing your browser history. Search suggestions on Windows PC’s library can also be deleted, but search suggestions on Mac's Finder can't be deleted.
Steps
Turning off All Search Suggestions
Open your web browser. Double click on your web browser or on a page that you have open to start it. This will work on Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
Open Settings or Preferences.- On Chrome, click on the menu icon ⋮ to the right of the address bar and then click on Settings.
- On Firefox, click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- On Safari, click on Safari in the bar at the top of the screen and then click on Preferences...
Navigate to your search settings.- On Chrome, scroll down and click on Advanced.
- On Firefox, click on Search in the sidebar.
- On Safari, click on Search in the menubar.
Turn off search suggestions.- On Chrome, slide the button to the "Off" position next to "Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar".
- On Firefox, uncheck the box next to "Provide search suggestions".
- On Safari, uncheck the box next to "Include search engine suggestions".

Resetting Search History on Google Chrome
Double click on the Chrome iconto load the browser. You can usually find this by searching in the start menu
on Windows or in the Dock on Mac.
Click on the menu icon ⋮ to the right of the address bar.- If you don't see this, you can click on History at the top of the screen instead. Then click on Show Full History, and skip to step 4.
Hover over History and click on History.
Click on Clear browsing data in the menu bar on the left.
Select a time range from the drop-down menu.- Select All time to completely reset your search suggestions.

Clearing Search History on Firefox
Open Firefox.
Click on the icon with 3 vertical lines and one slanted line. You should see this icon just to the right of the address bar.
Click on History. You should see this option in the menu that pops up.
Click on Clear Recent History. This should be the second option on the drop-down menu that appears.
Choose a length of time from the drop-down menu. This will determine how far back your history will be cleared.- Choose Everything to totally reset your search suggestions.

Clearing Search Suggestions from Windows Folders
Open the File Explorer. The icon looks like a yellow folder with a blue clip in it.
Click on the search bar at the top and type a letter in. It should say “Quick Access” in gray placeholder text.
Tap the ↓ Down arrow key on your keyboard. This will highlight the first search suggestion.
Press the Del key over the highlighted search suggestion. This will delete that search suggestion from your search history.- You can go through each entry by tapping the ↓ Down down arrow key repeatedly.
