Internet cookies are data files created by websites and stored locally on your computer. They allow a web server to identify individual users and are often used to customize each individual user's experience.[1] Cookies can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they can save custom settings, user preferences, login information, and even image information. This information can be used to enhance your web surfing experience and help websites run smoother. On the other hand, cookies can take up a lot of storage space and there may be privacy concerns with some cookies. For these reasons, you may not want to delete all cookies in Google Chrome, but you may want to delete some cookies from less trustworthy sites. This How.com.vn teaches you how to delete individual cookies in Google Chrome and a computer and Android phone or tablet.
Steps
Using PC and Mac
- Click ⋮ . It's the icon with three dots in the upper-right corner of Google Chrome. This displays the menu.
- On Mac, this is a red icon with an arrow pointing up instead of a button with three dots.
- Click Settings. It's near the bottom of the Chrome menu. This displays the Settings menu.
- Scroll down and click Cookies and other site data. It's the second option below "Privacy and Security." This displays a menu of options for cookies and other site data.
- Scroll down and click See all cookies and site data. It's a little more than halfway down the "Cookies and other site data" menu. This displays a list of all cookies and site data.
- You can also block individual sites from using cookies. To do so, click Add next to "Sites that can never use cookies" at the bottom of the "Cookies and other site data" menu. Then enter the web address for the website you want to block in the space provided and click Add.
- Click next to individual cookies. It's the icon that resembles a trashcan next to each cookie. This deletes the cookie instantly. Cookies are listed by the web address that created them. You may also see a variety of cookies from Google. Some of these cookies are used for analytics, processes, and security. However, some are associated with advertising.
