There are two aspects to this question, the physical side (will it harm the kitten's health?) and the behavioral (will it stop the mother from accepting the kitten?). From both point of views, bathing a newborn kitten should be avoided, nor should it be necessary to bathe a newborn as the mother should lick and clean it.

There's no one answer to the question and it's best to check the product insert to see if it's safe at a certain age.
