This How.com.vn teaches you how to install the Simple Poll app to Slack, and create a poll on a chat channel, using a desktop internet browser.
Steps
- Open Simple Poll in your internet browser. Type simplepoll.rocks into the address bar, and hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.
- Click the Add to Slack button. This button is in the middle of the page. You'll now be prompted to authorize Simple Poll for your Slack workspace.
- If you're not automatically logged in to Slack in your browser, you'll be prompted to enter your workspace's address, and sign in with your email and password.
- Open Slack on your computer. You can use the Slack desktop app or log in to your workspace on Slack.com.
- Select a channel on the left panel. Find the channel you want to message on your workspace's Channels list, and open it.
- Type /poll "Question" "1" "2" into the message field. This command will allow you to create a poll with the Simple Poll app, and share it with your contacts in the chat.
- Replace "Question" with your real question inside the quotes. Delete Question inside the quotation marks, and enter your question for the poll.
- Replace "1" and "2" with your answer options. Delete the numbers inside the quotes, and enter some answer options for your poll.
- You can add more answer options to your command line here.
- Send the message to the chat. Hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard to send your command line to the chat. This will automatically create your poll.Advertisement
