How to Create Reminders on an Android

This How.com.vn teaches you how to schedule reminders on your Android smartphone or tablet. Both the included Google app and the built-in Android Clock app are sufficient for scheduling reminders for your Android, and you can use the Google Calendar app to schedule a reminder for all of your Google-connected items.

Method 1
Method 1 of 3:

Using Google

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Open Google.
Tap the Google app icon, which resembles a red, yellow, green, and blue "G" on a white background.
    • The Google app comes pre-installed on most Androids.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Tap ☰.
It's in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Doing so brings up the Settings menu.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Tap Reminders.
This option is near the top of the menu.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Tap +.
It's in the bottom-right corner of the screen. A new reminder template will appear in the middle of the screen.
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Add a title.
Tap the "Title" text box, then type in whatever you want to use for your reminder's title.
  6. Step 6 Tap the "Time" checkbox.
    It's below the "Title" section.
    • You can instead select "Place" for your reminder, but doing so will result in a reminder once you arrive at a destination rather than once it's a specific time of day.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Set the reminder's details.
You can change the following details of your reminder toward the bottom of the menu:
    • Date — Tap Date, then either select a date in the drop-down menu or tap Set date... to select a calendar day.
    • Time — Tap Time, then either select a time in the drop-down menu or tap Set time... to select a specific time on the clock.
    • Repeat — If you want your reminder to repeat, tap Repeat, then tap the grey REPEAT WEEKLY switch and tap each day on which you want the reminder to repeat.
  8. How.com.vn English: Step 8 Tap icon.
It's a checkmark icon at the bottom of the reminder. This will save your reminder; once the reminder is activated, you'll receive a Google notification.
    • Your reminder will use your Android's default notification sound when it activates.

Using Your Android's Clock

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Open your Android's Clock.

This option is in the top-left corner of the screen.[1]
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Tap +.

to the right of the current month to move to the next month.
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Specify a time.
Swipe through the available hours and minutes until you've selected the proper time, then select AM or PM.
    • If you use 24-hour time, you don't need to select AM or PM.
  6. How.com.vn English: Step 6 Select days on which to repeat if necessary.
If you want your reminder to apply to more than just one day on one occasion, tap the initials of the day(s) on which you want the alarm to repeat.
    • For example, if you want your reminder to appear on Tuesdays and Thursdays during every week, you would tap both T options in the "Repeat" section.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Add a name.
Tap Alarm name, then type in your reminder's name and tap OK.
    • For a reminder about a business meeting, for example, you might type in Meeting at noon on an 11:00 alarm.
    • You can also adjust other options, such as whether the alarm allows snoozing, the alarm's sound, and the alarm's vibration, before proceeding.
  8. How.com.vn English: Step 8 Tap SAVE.
It's at the top of the screen. Doing so both saves your alarm and turns it on for your selected day(s) and time.
