Over time, dust, lint, and hair products can clog the filter on your Dyson Airwrap hair styling tool. This can restrict the airflow and potentially prevent your device from functioning properly. Luckily, you can completely clean the filter in minutes using the included filter cleaning brush (or a toothbrush or small cleaning brush) and running warm water. Quick Steps to Clean a Dyson Airwrap Filter

Take the included circular brush and twist it back and forth over the filter cage. Pinch the filter cage to remove it, then rinse it with warm water. Tap the cage and let it air dry, then twist the brush back and forth over the filter on your device. Slide the cage over the filter and twist until it clicks into place.

   Pop the circular brush included with your Airwrap over the filter cage. The Dyson Airwrap styler and multi-styler both come with a special circular filter cleaning brush. Slide the brush over the cable and up over the filter cage located near the base of the styler.

   • Unplug your Airwrap styler, turn off the power, and wait for it to cool completely before cleaning the filter.
   • If you don’t have an Airwrap filter cleaning brush, you can also use a toothbrush or a dry kitchen cleaning brush.
   • You can also order another filter cleaning brush on the Dyson website.

   Twist the brush back and forth over the filter cage to remove dust. Rotate the brush over the cage a few times until most of the dust is removed from the small holes. Slide the filter cleaning brush off the styler and remove it.

   Pinch the white dot at the top of the cage and pull down to remove it. Place your thumb on top of the dot and hold the handle on the styler as you pull the cage downwards over the cable. Gently pop open the cage to remove it from around the cable.

   • If you don’t see a white dot, pinch near the edge of the filter cage, right underneath the LED light.

   Wash the filter cage under warm, running water. Simply rinse the cage under water to remove any excess hair product or dust. You can use your fingers to remove any leftover debris from in and around the holes in the cage.

   • If your filter cage is really dirty, soak it in warm water with a drop of dish soap for 30 minutes. You can also add a few drops of clarifying shampoo to help break down any styling product residue.
   • If necessary, use the filter cleaning brush to scrub the cage under the water. Let it air dry completely before using it to clean the filter on your device.
   • This step and the next are ideal if you’re looking to deep clean your filter cage. For a quick clean, just brush the filter and the filter cage with a brush.

   Gently tap the cage to remove excess water and let it air dry. Tap the cage against the side of the sink or gently shake it. Place the filter cage on a towel and make sure it’s bone-dry before putting it back on the styler.

   Slide the brush back over the filter and twist it back and forth. As you rotate the brush, move it up and down to make sure all the dust and debris from the entire metal filter is removed.

   • You can also use a toothbrush or a smaller cleaning brush to make sure all the dust and debris is removed from the tiny holes in the metal filter.
   • To keep from damaging your styler, make sure not to use any water or chemicals to clean the filter on the device.

   Slide the cage over the filter and twist until it snaps into place. Gently pull apart the filter cage, slide it over the cable, and push it up towards the handle of the styler. Turn the cage until the white dot and the white LED light are aligned and it makes an audible click sound.

   Clean your filter once a month or whenever the filter cage is clogged. Residential cleaning specialist Regina Decorte says that “depending on usage, filters need to be cleaned on a regular, monthly schedule.” If you use your Dyson Airwrap daily, clean the filter at least once every 2 weeks.

   • If your Airwrap styler stops working, won’t turn on, its white LED starts flashing, or becomes overheated, your filter might need to be cleaned.
