Steps
- Open Chrome. It’s the round red, blue, green, and yellow icon in the app drawer. You may also find it on the home screen.
- It’s not possible to change ownership of a file in the Google Drive app, but you’ll be able to do it on the mobile website.
- Navigate to https://drive.google.com.Advertisement
- Tap ⁝. It’s at the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Tap the box next to Request desktop site. A check mark will appear in the box, and the webpage will reload.
- Scroll down and tap Go to Google Drive. It’s the blue button toward the bottom of the screen. This should display the contents of your Google Drive.

- Tap Share. This launches the “Share with others” window.

- Tap Send. An invitation to view the file will be sent to the selected recipient(s). Now you’ll see the “Sharing settings” screen, which should display the selected recipient’s name or address under “Who has access.”
- Tap the pencil icon next to the new owner’s name. A pop-up menu will appear.
- Select Is owner.
- Tap Save Changes. It’s the blue button at the bottom-left corner of the screen. A confirmation message will appear, informing you that you’re about to transfer ownership of the file.
