Jangmo-o is a new Dragon-type Pokémon in Sun and Moon that can evolve into the pseudo-legendary Dragon-and-Fighting-type Pokémon Hakamo-o, making it a valuable Pokémon for any player, competitively or not.
Steps
- Look out for a patch of grass. Once you are almost done with Poni Canyon, you will see a small patch of grass near the trial site.
- In this patch, you have a 5% chance to find a Jangmo-o.
- Boost your chances if you can. Your chances can be boosted by having a Pokémon with the move Sweet Scent in your party, or an ability that increases encounters with wild Pokémon.
Community Q&A
- QuestionDoes anyone know where the tree is?Community AnswerI recommend traversing the whole of Poni Canyon, and then using Machamp Shove to move the boulder near the Veteran by the entrance. The tree is near that opening.
- QuestionCan you get Jangmo-o on one of the other islands?VictoriaTop AnswererNo. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Vast Poni Canyon is the only known place where you can catch Jangmo-o.
Tips
- Make sure that you don't currently have a Repel active; perhaps from you trying to quickly get through the canyon. Thanks
- The best time to catch Jangmo-o is night, as it lets you use a Dusk Ball, which greatly increases your chances of catching it.Thanks
- Quick Balls are very useful if you don't want to fight Jangmo-o in fear of it fainting. Thanks
