This How.com.vn teaches you how to buy or rent a movie or TV show on YouTube when you’re using an Android.
Steps
Open YouTube on your Android. It’s the red rectangle icon with a white sideways triangle inside. You’ll usually find it in the app drawer and/or on the home screen.
Tap Library. It’s the folder icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Tap Purchases. It’s in the first group of options.
Tap GET MOVIES. It’s the blue and white button near the center of the page.
Browse for a movie or show.- Movies: Tap MOVIES at the top-left corner, and then select a genres at the screen. Tap a movie to read its description, see the price and purchase options, and view a preview.
- Shows: Tap SHOWS at the top of the screen, and then scroll down to view options grouped by genre. To see more shows in a genre, tap VIEW ALL under that genre.
- For a show with multiple episodes/seasons, you’ll usually have the option to buy or rent individual episodes as well as the entire season.
- If more than one season is available, tap the SEASON drop-down above the episode list, then select a different season to its episodes.
Tap the blue price button. It’s at the top of the right column. It'll usually say ″From $1.99″ (the actual price varies). A list of price options will appear.
Review the options. Most shows and movies are available in different video qualities at different prices. You may also find the option to rent the video instead of buying (which is always cheaper).- If you choose the Rent option, you must start watching the video within 30 days of making the purchase. Once you start watching, you’ll have access to the video for 48 hours.[1]
- If you choose the Buy option, the video will remain in your library permanently and you can watch it as many times as you wish.
- You may also have the choice of selecting HD (high-definition) or SD (standard-definition). SD is cheaper, but HD is better quality. If you see UHD (ultra high definition), you can buy or rent the 4K version (which is usually excessive for just watching a video on a phone or tablet).
Tap the price you’d like to pay. This opens the GPay window.
Select or add a payment method. If you’ve used your Google account to buy things in the past, you should see at least one payment option here. Tap the drop-down menu to see all accounts you've added, then tap the one you want to use.- If no payment method is available, follow the on-screen instructions to add a card or payment account (such as PayPal).
Tap PAY NOW to pay. It’s the blue button at the bottom-right corner of the window. The remaining steps vary by payment method. Once the payment is approved, the video will be added to your Library.- To watch the movie or show, go back to your Library, tap Purchases, and then tap the purchased video.
