Steps
Blocking Calls and Texts from a Phone Number
Open the Phone app. It’s the phone receiver icon that’s usually at the bottom of the home screen.- This method will also block incoming text messages from the person you add.
Tap the ⁝ menu. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.
Tap Settings. It’s the last option in the menu.
Tap Call blocking. It’s near the bottom of the menu.
Tap ADD A NUMBER.
Enter the phone number you want to block.
Tap BLOCK. This adds the number to your blocked callers list. You can no longer receive phone calls or text messages from this phone number.- To remove a phone number from the list, return to this screen, tap the phone number, then tap UNBLOCK.

Sending All Calls from a Contact to Voicemail
Tap the All Appsbutton. It’s usually at the bottom of the home screen.
- This method does not block text messages from the selected contact.
- The person you block using this method can still leave you voicemail.
Tap Contacts. Its icon usually looks like an address book with the outline of a person on it.[1]
Tap the contact you want to block.
Tap the ⁝ menu. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.
Tap All calls to Voicemail. Now that you’ve selected this feature, incoming calls from this contact will no longer ring your phone. The person can still leave you voicemail, however.[2]- To unblock calls in the future, return to the person’s contact information, tap the ⁝ menu, then select All calls to Voicemail again to deselect it.
