Da'ee are people who call to Islam. A good Da'ee usually requires knowledge in many aspect and religions. Here are few steps how to become a Da'ee.
Steps
Start a blog and write about Islam in any language whether in English, a global language or in your mother tongue. Although your blog will be just a drop in an ocean, bear in mind that little things make a difference. Write in a precise and clear way and be sure about naming them in such ways that attract non-Muslims especially, such as peace, truth, personality development etc. Whether it benefits anybody or not, it will surely benefit you, in getting rewards from Almighty Allah (may He be exalted) and in increasing your Islamic knowledge.
Visit question and answer forums. These are some places where people ask questions on Islam. Answer them because you never know, that answer could help someone to get the right picture of Islam and cause them to accept Islam.- Do not respond to troll questions, which can appear often. The person asking just wants to cause offence, so just ignore it or report it if it's extremely offensive.
Donate Islamic books. Whether they're new or old, for Muslims or non-Muslims, books are precious for those who seriously want to seek Islamic knowledge.
Recommend authentic websites in your emails, web articles etc. There are many Islamic websites, such as [www.Islamreligion.com The Religion of Islam] and IslamQA.
Use Islamic and Arabic words in day-to-day life. Instead of saying "hello" or "good morning", say "assalamu alaikum". Instead of saying "God", say "Allah".
Actions speak louder than words. Use your physical personality for Dawah, as it is the best way to make people understand what Islam is. Be kind to others and respect those who have a different view.
Adopt the lifestyle of the Prophet. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the guiding principle. He spend 40 years before declaring prophet-hood in building moral character and spreading love and truth. His whole life is based on love and mercy; he is a mercy for the worlds. Almighty Allah created love and mercy to be more powerful weapons to spread the truth rather than anything else.- Call people with love and mercy.
- Greet them with salaam.
- Take special care of neighbors, fellow passengers etc.
- Talk politely with the poor, orphans, widows, oppressed, children, disabled and depressed.
Use modern technology to your advantages. Nowadays, there are mobile phones, computers, and many others devices - be creative and innovative in your da'wah. Send cards, make leaflets, or prepare colorful presentations to spread the truth. Today's world is awesome; you can learn anything to everything; take this as a privilege granted by Almighty Allah and use it to spread Islam.
Be a good citizen. The Qur'an says to "fulfil all promises"; wherever you are in the world, you must obey the rules of the land. Respect traffic and dumping rules and do not commit crimes. This will show that Muslims are disciplined and obedient. Avoid doing anything that misrepresents Islam specially in public places.
Gift people Islamic books. Whatever the occasion, hand out books or CDs to help them seek knowledge. Gift people good tafsir of the Quran and sahih hadith in their language. Make it a habit to gift Quran to people on any occasion like marriage etc. whether Muslim or non Muslim even to your family members.
Use your talents and skill in explaining Islam. Whether you are a doctor, a lawyer or an accountant, combine your skills with its Islamic concept. If you are an accountant, learn and teach about Islamic finance and so on. Show that Islam relates to every aspect of our life.
Make sure you are knowledgeable. This goes without saying; if you don't know something, do not try to spread it, as it will lead to misguidance and false knowledge. Only spread what you are certain about and what you practice.
Obey Allah's commands. Regularly supplicate to Allah to help you with this journey and follow the way of His messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him).- The Almighty Creator does not forget anything; your slightest effort for His sake will not be wasted, and you will get the reward on the day of Judgment.
